When I ask employess to sign their contract I presently give them 2 copies one for me one for then, can I give them just one copy and photocopy it and give them a copy for the records?

Just saves me the hassle of filling in the template twice, and getting them to sign twice.

There is no real harm in completing one template and then copy it for signature. Ideally, all signatures should be originals rather than copies.

I could if I printed them , I use a template I did and have spaces for the variables that i fill in by hand

What about making your template in a word document and therefore never needing to write out the alterations by hand again?

Then you could print off two copies and get both signed.
