Hi,

I am a soletrader, don´t currently employ anyone, I work alone. I am going to be employing a translator ongoing in France and I am not sure what the best way to employ them is? They won´t be liable to UK tax will they, as they live in France? The person is Swiss French, never been in the UK.

I suppose they are self employed, but they will only be working for me which makes me believe they will be an employee of mine..

Whats the guide for this?

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply to your question.
I'm an english chartered accountant working in France self-employed, also offering translation services to companies. I pay all french taxes & social security payments here and invoice my customers for my services, thus am not an employee to them. I imagine with your swiss-french translator this should work in the same way. Does that make sense?! Any questions feel free to ask!
