Hello everyone.

I need help with embedding a flash (FLV) player into my website.

I am using Serif x2 software at the mo and i have tried all angles to execute this by watching examples on youtube, asked advice from web designers and also downloaded software that will so called embed the player for you (A4 desk flash video player) and nothing works.

My website is thesewingguru.com, can somebody please help.

Thank you and regards

Michel Coates.

One problem I had when first doing this (on a windows server)... I embedded everything fine... but the player kept coming up blank. The problem was that the server wasn't configured to recognise the FLV format, so wasn't serving it back properly, I added it as a recognised file extension in the web server (IIS) and it worked fine.

If you aren't controlling your own web server then you will need to contact your host if this is the issue. I'm not sure whether this issue would apply to Apache hosting, I've only experience with windows.

Thank you for the response, i will try that web wizard, i did look at it before and it looked good but i could not find any reviews of people who had used it so i swa a bit dubious. Now that that you say that it works fine then i will give it a go so thanks for that.

Thank you for the comment on the hosting server i will call them and see what they say.

Thanks again everyone for your quick response

What is the problem with the video on your website? It seems that you did not mention in your thread. Generally speaking, you can check the path of your FLV video and FLV player, or try another FLV player for the streaming. You can try playerdiy.com, which is s quick solution to create custom Flash video player for website.
