email verification problem on one of my sites

I've implemented an email verification on one of my sites ( Petition )

The problem I've got is the email seems to be ending up in the spam folder, so the person doesn't seem to see it/get it. They need to click on the verification link to add their signature.

Has anyone any advice on how to stop this from happening?

Thanks Mally

Hi Mally,

I just signed up on your site so I could take a look at the email headers, but I've not received the email at all (spam or not) so unfortunately I can't see them.

Most visitors will want to use it straight away and if the verification isn't sent out promptly, they will move onto the next site so it urgently needs sorting out.

What has your web host said about why the emails are not getting there?

Hi Mally,

No, I simply registered here: http://www.petition.co.uk/register/

After completing the registration form, the page informed me I should receive an email in 1-2 minutes - that didn't arrive.

I signed one of the petitions and that did come through.

Looking at the headers, it all seems fine and our spam filters were fine with it. It may be because there is little content in the email and it has a link (more link than text).

Try rewriting the email content to have more natural text so the spam filters see it as a normal email. That may do the trick.
