Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendationd for email hosting on a domain name. No web space required. I have a web hosting reseller account that I no longer use and im closing it down but I setup two accounts on my hosting for 2 friends domain email but I want to recommend somewhere else for them to move to.

Requirements:
at least 2 x imap boxes per account
webmail access
smtp server for sending
spam filter
virus scanning incoming
control panel

A quick google search found email hosting from 1 and 1 for 69p + vat per month which seams reasonable.

Any recommendations welcome.

I'd recommend 1and1. I have many accounts with them. I would recommend you take some small webspace though, even if it's only for a single web page to put your details on. People often see the domain in the emnail address and go and look at the website for that domain out of interest. Basic webspace plus email is very resonable.

    Hi GavCooper,

I completly agree that Google Apps is the way to go. As a Google Apps Reseller how could I not :) But have you thought about Premier Edition. We find it's a no brainer when setting up clients. To date we've setup over 7500 users on Google Apps and it's amazing to see the effects on even small businesses.

    Cheers

This is the best recommendation, Google apps free standard account will allow you to add your own domain name and gives 7GB per email account. Plus you can use google calendar, doc and the other services all free. There is no competition really.

    Hi,

For Email hosting one needs a differnt serverr as because of normar server one can not send and reseive many number of mails.

This can be counted as spam.

    Thanks

What? - News to me, do you have information to back this claim up.

If you are going to send any large business related email campaigns, you should be using one of the many html email campaign delivery services anyway. Normal business/personal email activity can not be counted as spam.
