A lot of PDFs aren't editable because of the way they have been made or saved so watch out for that.

I don't know if it's what you are looking for but I have used a free pdf creator which I found at http://www.pdf995.com/

It turns word documents into pdf's, which I found very handy, and it was easy to use, not to mention FREE!

I have downloaded the first one but I can't find any tool that lets me add text on top of a PDF file. Will it not allow me to do it?
I found the stamp thingy- that lets you write 'APPROVED' etc..but I just want to put my name on something. Any ideas? TIA

You could copy the whole document as a picture (use the tool on the toolbar), paste it into a word doc and insert a text box with your name on.

The only thing is- I have just downloaded the Visage Soft thing with the point being that I can add text to a PDF file and I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
