ecommerce website price

    Hi,

    I just found out a few days ago on this forum about Target Tech Malta. I simply loved the design of their website that I had to buy something just to try it out. I contacted them if they do web development and they said they do, they asked me 260 pounds with hosting and a domain name.

    Is it worth it? or can someone do the same job with a lower price?Also Do you think it's wise to invest in an eshop, I have an ebay shop but I just hate ebay charges.

    You can find cheap hosting companies. Generally speaking though, cheap hosting are USA based servers. UK based servers are more expensive as we are charged more for bandwidth, manpower, hardwares.
    Get your own server at Rackspace and it might cost £600-700 per month but your site will be flying fast.

    Also standard might very greatly from a server parked in a humid garage and a server in a server farm with air cooling.

    No 600 is too much for me, I need something to start off with. They did not mention where their servers are, I will send them an email and check about it. They are a Maltese company, maybe it's in Malta.

    No it includes the website too, with hosting and domain. This is their email.

    So you think it's bad idea, but their website is so *** perfect. I think the website is ready and they just pop in my logo.Also I don't think Malta is as expensive as in the UK. I don't know, tomorrow I search some internet sites and check their pricing.

    How much does an average site costs?

    £260 seems extremely cheap! You get what you pay for at the end of the day. My guess would be that making changes, updating the site etc will be a nightmare and only cause you more trouble in the long term.

    If you are the only developer available for the site you will want to have full control of it, this also means an in-depth understanding how the shopping cart and database works.
    If it were me, I would be very sceptical about this...

    It's like saying I want an in-depth understanding of accounting and law so you don't need an accountant nor a lawyer nor their experience.

    That's a good point though. How much of the website will be his. You usually find out when you want to move to another provider.

    i have been a web designer for over 20 years, having a online business website built for £260 is so cheap. if you have a good look at it i think you will find that you would be held on the hosting or supplie as have a ecommerce site to work well it takes money and a lot of hard work

    there are so many companys out there sell these types of web sites but forget to tell you if you need things added you need a designer to code it
    and with the seo which can take a lot of money so i would think before jump in.

    people say £260 is cheap but is it really, as far as i can tell its an hours work maybe.

    All they will do its copy files change a config and upload a logo.

    Hell for £260 i would host you a magento/osc/zen shop just dont expect an original design, any SEO or much help in how to use it. (ie everything thats important)

    www.fasthost.co.uk
    its very cheap you can integrate with paypal or any uk business account.
    readmade templates.
    dont waste ur money.u r doing business to earn not waste.thanks
