One for the web designers out there....

I am looking for an off-the-shelf e-commerce and CMS system that I can offer to clients with smaller budgets. Currently all CMS and e-commerce stuff we do is bespoke and expensive.

Given the current financial climate I am looking for something that is easy to use (we are primarily graphic designers with reasonable code & css knowledge) and that will allow the site owner a reasonable amount of control over the site (adding & editing products etc).

Also something that is easy to integrate into a payment gateway (protyx etc)

Many thanks in advance,

Dave, Toast

CubeCart offers everything you will need plus a basic cms if owners want to add say an about us page stuff like that and its easy enough to create skins for if you know CSS/HTML

If you want something top notch for a CMS Joomla is the way to go but for most users it can be a bit complicated to get their head around.

When not doing bespoke CMS - Snippetmaster has worked well for some of my smaller clients for changing body content (not to create new pages though)

The basic version is free but would recommend you upgrade to the professional version (only abou $20).

It is easy to set up and very easy (like Word) for the client to use.

The support is excellent also.

Hi Dave,

COG is an excellent platform and is designed so that graphic designers are able to use their creative flair. It also gets you ranked high in the search engines due to the way the code has been written

It is dead simple and easy to use, I've found it much easier than many other e-commerce solutions out there. Plus on top of that it's cheap (£28 per month) and because there's no minimum term you can opt out anytime.

Have a search for it in google and you'll be able to test drive it on the site!

Hope this helps!

Hi Dave,
Considering your needs and requirements, I recommend you to try a newly-released e-commerce solution named Corncart.
It's different from traditional shopping carts but gather all the advantages of them.
It's available for free and easy to use.
Also, your customer can have their own can handle and organize their online shops without difficulty.

If you are interested in it, you can visit their website or send me an e-mail for detail information.

Hope it helps.

I would recommend NetDirector e-Trade Pro. They have a partner / reseller programme which may be of interest. You can also have i-frame on your website so that your clients can sign up for 14 day free trial. Well worth a look! Software is A1 aswell. Cannot sumbit link as this is my first post.
