ecommerce design question

I would like to obviously make a banner for my Pet Shop online and am wanting to use pictures of animals. Would I have to use pictures of my own or could i use pictures from anywhere online...that wern't copyrighted of course.

depends where you are going to source them from, unless it is a site that says they are royalty free for commercial use, then you aren't going to be able to use the image without contacting the copyright owner

for a lot of images you aren't going to easily be able to find out who the owner is...

Your best using a stock library, plenty of them online.

I use fotolia - Google them.

Failing that you best get a good camera and have plenty of patience!!! as they say its difficult working with kids and animals...............


Although with you being a pets shop you must be dealing with animals more than kids!!!

I've got birds, my Mum has a beautiful Beagle and so does her neighbour and they have cats, I could get pictures of my own...but you're right, it's not easy at all

You don't need 'real' animals in your banner. I have created a simple banner for my wildlife garden and pet store. No animals were harmed in its creation!

Nice Idea...liked the look of your site, very neat design

This site is a free blogger blog. I will switch it to a self hosted site at some point but for now as it's 'experimental' it's just in blogger form. They have great templates and features now compared to when they first started out, but generally people value wordpress sites more.

There are many places from where you can get some pictures. See to that there is no text written on that image. If you use any copyright images. You may be sued. So be careful. Copyright images sometimes may not have any text in it. So check from the source you are taking the images from.

Why not ask your customers for images of their pets, gets them invloved and saves you the trouble
