ebay purchases and other receipts

Hi,

I started up a business in october 2011, I have since made quite a few purchases for the needs of the business ie tools, stationary etc

most of my purchases have been from ebay but I have also purchased goods secound hand.

can anyone tell me how i get a receipt for ebay purchases that I can give my accountant?? also, how to i provide a receipt for the goods i have purchased secoundhand from people

I generally suggest to clients they keep the PayPal receipt if the seller doesn't actually send a receipt.

thanks guys! much appreciated - thats ebay sorted but how about the secoundhand goods bought directly from people?? ive bought a few tools and a roofrack, all secoundhand and bought directly and paid cash. hows best to show this to an accountant

It's best to get a receipt where you can, but if not just make a record of the payment in your accounting records showing as much detail as you can.

It would really be good idea to take some specific advice directly from your accountant on record keeping.
