hello ebayers,

i know duplicate listings are not allowed
i am a seller on a limited market and i have worked on my account since few years and i have arround 55k feedback now
i can see now some competition coming to ebay selling the same items as i do but in unfair way...

other seller has created few ebay accounts and he sell the same items on all of the acocunts using diffrent pictures and with diffrent ways of adding postage (some with included some with separate)
but all of the listings have references in title so when i entered this to ebay i found how many accounts this person created

now another seller started the same
diffrent pictures, diffrent pricing, diffrent describtion - the same items
but this time everything on single account

i know it is worth to do for them when they have a really new accounts but even they only started they can make more sales than i can do after 4-5 years of trading and following ebay rules

i have tried to talk to ebay as this is killing my business and they said they can`t accept manual reports and i can do duplicate listing report trough automated system and this will work only if listing A=B....
in any other case they wouldn`t react

what would you advice?
should it make many listings of the same items in diffrent point of view with a bit changed describtion or would ebay find out one day?

is there any other way to deal with?

Hello

If having many ebay accounts is against ebay rules, and you report your competitors abuses, look like ebay don't treat seriously this specific behavior or couldn't prove anything.

I assume your competitors use different data to register new ones, and it's impossible to prove misuse and link accounts with the one owner.

Ask your self if you can register another account for other data then actual if so, go for it!

Just clean cookies, flash cookies and swap IP during login to another account, use different phone numbers, email into your offer and there is nothing ebay can do to against it.

I think they will still have my account connected as per some regulations you are required to enter your business informations
plus if you are on vat and you add vat number to have fees with vat exempt then they will connect accounts anyway...

Well its up to you, you can either do the same or not lol.

You can use multiple accounts linked to the same paypal, supposedly against ebays rules to list the same items across different accounts but as you can see its unlikely they'll care unless one gets banned then they'll all get banned

Or you can do it the stealth way either using a friends details or a variation of your real name and different address or made up person, paypal aren't a bank so as far as I know you can tell them you're Bill and Ben the flowerpot men and its not illegal

It's perfectly OK to have multiple accounts on eBay. what is against their rules is selling the same product from the same person. However, if you have multiple Limited companies which are separate legal entities, VAT numbers, etc. then that's one way round it. Another practice I hate is carpet bombing entire categories with the same product just described differently and for a different model number, printer cartridges suffer this problem badly. I know of one firm local to me that have 5 such accounts seling much the same stuff. The problem is that eBay is but one market, all they're doing is taking a bigger share of that single market, and it dilutes itself the more ID's you have, it comes to a point of diminishing returns on the amount of work and staff multiple accounts take up. Surely it's better to expand in the big wide world outside of a single marketplace.

Well, you can have many accounts and many companies but if you have one warehouse you would need to rent more space...
I guess you can`t use the same stock to sell in diffrent companies you own...

As you said listing the same item described diffrently is what happens a lot to me and i hate it but i think soon this will be the best way to keep the company alive.

I wouldn`t really want to risk my 55k feedback account but account without sales wouldn`t make my living.

Well, you need to consider that if you use 1 paypal account and you transfer a lot they will give you discount which is quite a lot.

Ebay vat exempt - if you want it you would need to apply with your vat number and... they got you and all your accounts....

ebay business information - legally requed, if you enter the same in each account... they got you...

the only good think is that ebay and paypal are separate now but i am still not so sure they share the information about buyers so i know you can have few emails on one paypal to accept payments so ebay wouldn`t probably know
