Ebay delivery to Argos - Sainsburys store for click and collect?

Looking for some peace of mind before despatching a fairly valuable (£200) piece of used equipment to an Argos store within a Sainsburys supermarket for click and collect.

I know this is possible using Ebay's own mailing set up via Royal Mail/Parcelforce but it's double the cost of sending via our own Parcelforce account. Any reason why we shouldn't use it?

Never had any particular problem with Argos collection. I use royal mail for delivery most of the time.

Do you trust your delivery service to get it to the shop?
Then use them.
I've taken another look at the Ebay set up and it doesn't allow for a large enough parcel. (1m long x 45cm x 45 cm - 22 k)
I'm using Parcelforce, had an account for years so every faith in them to deliver, i'm just nervous that all I have is a name, a customer code and a supermarket address! What if it gets to the store and goes awol on it's way to the Argos collection point, or am I overthinking this?

I would say it would be safer than leaving it on the door step ,leaving it in the bin or chucking it over the garden fence

Yep, it's fine. Its better than having the courier leave it on their doorstep if they are out, or better than having it left a local newsagents. I sent a parcel just before lockdown to a newsagents which was a click and collect center. The newsagents then closed for several weeks during lockdown, needless to say my buyer wasn't impressed but it was her choice of collection point.

Well, surprise, surprise. Delivery attempted and delivery refused, so parcel winging its way back to the depot!
Does anybody know if there are restrictions on box size? That's the only thing I can think as to why it may have been refused even though it was only 20k it was around 900mm long.
VERY clearly labelled, Special Instructions etc., when booked

How to use Click & Collect
We'll automatically offer Click & Collect on your listings if:

    • You're offering a quick dispatch time (0-3 days is ideal)
    • Your item weighs no more than 15kg (including packaging) and no one side of the parcel exceeds 90cm, with max dimensions of 0.324 cubic metres. (Any items that are too large or exceed the weight limit will be rejected on arrival at the Click & Collect location and may be disposed of, without reimbursement)
    • Your item isn't classified as dangerous or age-restricted
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling...ck & Collect&intent=argos&lucenceai=lucenceai

It sounds like your item doesn't qualify for click & collect. Your dimensions and weight are on the product screen correctly?

Looks like we exceeded the weight and dimensions then.

Not that I didn't trust the answers on here, but i spoke to our Parcelforce rep as well.

I've just looked at the Ebay Terms and Conditions and apparently Click & Collect is an option that I HAVE TO OPT IN OR OUT OF...

I certainly haven't opted in so it must be defaulted to that?

    Just editing to add this:

By not opting out, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Terms and conditions for Click & Collect and that these terms will apply to the relevant listings. Those terms include, among other important provisions:

    • a description of the items that are ineligible and restrictions on the value, weights and dimensions of items that may qualify for eBay Click & Collect as a delivery option; and
    • consequences of an item being undeliverable or unidentifiable, including an authorisation from you to dispose of, sell or donate the item to charity.
