E-Shots

I have just started using mailchimp and love the control it gives and the way they manage the lists, unsubscribe etc.

Cannot for sure say what works and we are very careful as it is children we are often sending to so tends to be newsey rather than a big sell.

Just had to send out a couple recently though to tell everyone we have a new site on a new url.

Best wishes with it.

Successful email marketing depends upon a number of factors such as:

Mailing list- if your sourcing then - is it to the right target market? how fresh is it? relevance of offer?if your own generated have you cleaned out bounces/unsubscribes etc

Creative- is your creative professionally designed and to the point? can it be viewed in both HTML & text version?

Call to action-Do you have a clear call to action and does the landing page reflect the email broadcasted?

Your Message- You need to ask yourself why would the consumer respond to your brand/offering- is the offer strong enough? tips: offer incentives to sign up to your newsletter e.g. prize draw then send regular special promotions

Yime and day also play an important factor e.g. I would always suggest tues-thurs works best as weekends and begining/end of week tend not to perform as well as on these days.

I work in the email marketing arena and can help you source lists and put together a campaign. We also have comprehensive guides on email marketing and setting up creatives.

My distribution list is not exactly opted in. It's really just an existing database that I am currently using, adding to and ammending as I go along. Over the past few months I have only had a few "opt out" requests and have had some new resulting business from others added in, so it is kind of working! Taking on board comments from this forum, I want to step it up and get more from it with as little outlay as possible.

Having said that, discounted e-shot campaigns or similar help along these lines would certainly be of interest. The difficulty I have is that the industry we are in chages daily. So I need the flexibility to be able to revise flyers/mailshots regularly and do not really want to incur costs doing so.
