E-mail marketing

It can work in a number of way, you could call it direct marketing in one way as you could collect emails as and when people sign up for a newsletter on your website or ask a question via your website and their address is collected into a list.

Every month or when you have new offers etc, an e-flyer or an HTML EMail can be sent out to your client base.

The other way about it is the buying of an email list from companies such as marketing file where you can narrow down the users you are looking for e.g. A propert website might want an email address for persons who have been living in their house for longer than 3 years, age range between 25-30 with an income of over £40k to see if they would be willing to advertise their property for sale or looking to buy. The e-flyer would then be generated again and sent out to those users.

The first type of email marketing is more intentional, the people wish to receive e-flyers. The second would look up on it as Spam more than likely however they are on the list because they have not ticked a box somewhere for wishing not to receive info.

E-flyers can be tracked using the email marketing software. Our email marketing allows us to see how many click-throughs there have been for whatever offer was on the email, how many people have un-subscribed, how many delivered etc etc.

I hope that helps.

Very quick anwser Flamin, thank you very much! Do you think that e-mail marketing brings some results? Wasn't it popular few years ago?
And the first way seems to be much better than teh second one (for me as user).

:) No problem. Yes I believe email marketing does bring results, and with the system we have you can track click through's etc to see how well the advert, newsletter or whatever else you send out does.

Most people do use them for either newsletters or promotional emails. Online shops send out offers etc and normal companies like ourselves send out emails telling clients what we have been upto, hints and tips and if we have any new services which they might be interested in.

Hi,
An interesting thread as this is something that's been on my list of Things-We-Might-Do. Can anyone recommend a good list broker? Is there any way of knowing whether the emails are valid or is this purely down to the reputation of the supplier?

I'd be looking at targetting consumers but am wary of the anti-spam laws and would hate to fall foul of these inadvertently...
