Guys what is a good software that you can link with your website and be able to manage your inventory, keep tracking of your accounting, view your sales and most importantly be able to easily interact with customers and view/change/amend their orders

I am on tight budget and this is my new business venture

Our website 'back office' is, effectively, this system. It reports all sales information, including the VAT aspects of it, and it keeps inventory records. It is the only system we need to do this, as it meets with all our requirements and can integrate with a choice of accounting packages as well.

For us, total integration is vital. You do not want to be receiving on stock twice, and of course, your sales records are all racking up automatically as the sales happen.

I am not sure of course, of your exact definition of tight budget as we all claim that when buying!

Hi You can take a look at our website at oelite.com where you can build the website with us, and then use the built-in inventory control to monitor your stock level. Monthly cost definitely helps to improve your budget. Problem I can see is if you have already got a website so probably can check the solution below from Zoho.

You can also take a look at Zoho's eCommerce website, they sell their inventory software separately however I guess they offer integration services if you want your website to talk with the inventory software directly.

This is pretty much what ecommerce software does, although usually it is the website rather than something you add to an existing website. Check out Magento and OpenCart, both open source (so the software is free, but you might need to pay someone to set it up for you if you are not a developer). We use KashFlow for accounts, and use CarryTheOne to integrate it with our ecommerce software.

What if I get a sale outside the website, how would I add it to my overall database so that it is stored for accounting and many other purpose...... I am not sure it is possible unless I use the outside software like NetSuite?

Depends on what you need to do and where the official data you will draw up your accounts from resides. At the moment, KashFlow is the final point for my setup, so any sales that don't go through the website get added manually into KashFlow. But Magento also allows you to manually create orders, so you could add them at that point so that they will go through the shipping part of your system and into your accounts in the same way that web orders would. You will have to check if this is an option in other ecommerce software such as OpenCart as I don't use that.

If a very small amount of sales are 'off website' then you can do as Raw Rob says, and manually process orders and use the website as the primary records for sales and stock level.

However it becomes more complicated if say 75% Sales are off website, then you really need an POS / Inventory system, which has feeds to/from your websites. This is obviously a far more expensive solution.
