blog.shortcouture.com/selling-on-the-internet.html

try bitsythis.com it's part of EnterpriseNation and they have just done a deal with AXA for ecomm insurance,

also simplybusiness.co.uk - I beleive they cover US & canada as an extra.

Then come back and tell us what you found.

Its a common thing with insurance firms, ours was pulled a few years back.

We have shopped around & have used simply business but can't get cover for foods, sweets etc for the US & Canada.

We did ask & was told it would treble out quote.

Im not too sure how we stand legally if a problem occurred with food, sweets etc for a US customer.
The advice we have got varies on who would be liable.
I would have though brand name goods would have their own insurance to cover this sort of thing but we keep getting told US customers would chase us, not our suppliers.

One of our suppliers has just told us they are no longer insured for the US or Canada due to the prices rising & Im sure others will follow shortly.

Our insurers pulled out of USA/Canada too.....AXA!
Apparently if someone in the USA/Canada buys a martial arts belt from me, then it comes undone whilst they are wearing it because the didn't tie it properly, and the trip and hurt themselves, they can sue me.......like ti MY fault they can't tie their own belt - but there you go.

We don't supply to Canada, however we do have a small group of very loyal customers in the USA that we will supply to and have done for 8 years now - uninsured, aat our own risk though :( so far, so good......

Hi Guys,

Maybe we could help some of you? It would be wrong of us to offer blanket advice in the forum as we review each website independently. However we do specialise in this area of ecommerce and cyber liability insurance and would happily talk to anyone about their individual website requirements.

For more information visit our website or call us 020 7873 2499

We can provide public / products liability insurance for products exported to the USA / Canada at a very reasonable rate. I provided a quotation to a company last week to include this cover and the premium was no more than what they were currently paying to another broker.

Please give me a call on 01142 802 830
