E-com , what MUSTS on your website to help sales

A little bit about myself as its my first Post.
Hi guys, I have just signed up hoping to learn more about running a successful Online Business. I am a college graduate with A Level's In I.T Technician / Business and have also got a Foundation Degree with similar aspects.

I qualified about 2 years ago, and have been stuck in a factory job.. (seriously.) am capable of doing much more, i just cant find the right job in my area. (with no car) so i have limitation on my locations.

So ive decided to try and do my own Online Business. !

A little bit about my Business Plan
To keep it short simple and too the point, Its Selling Laptop Accessories, Such as A/C Adaptors and later on at some stage will be selling Keyboards and Batteries.

Ive chose to do this, in a particular different way, A lot of People get confused about which is the correct Item for their laptop, So My Aim is to have A list of "as many as possible" laptops that a user can simply click find their specific model and then the item is displayed to which fits their model.

I already have my "Novice" website at the moment, which is about 70% Complete. I built it myself and learnt my self, (i know it could be better ) but as its my first, i dont think its too bad.

The point of this post is to try and find out what users think the MUSTS are on website to enhance the customer's conformability in a website so I have started off with a couple and hope people join in and me help out.

MUSTS

  • Telephone Number
  • Website Ease Of Use
  • Wide Variaty of Products
  • Testimonial
  • Resonable Cost
  • (Possibly Free Shipping)

Also How to Improve Google Ranking

  • Advertising ... (where) Currently Im on Google ads (£30) a day:eek:
  • Register On Multiple Search Engines (Ive done, Bing, Yahoo, Google, Ask and a few more)
  • Future Date = ( Use Ebay, Amazon, Play.com if theirs more please feel free to say) when Return On Investments Improve's
I Hope to find out a lot more about being successful which is why I joined, Am Obviously going to continue reading through these forums to find out more information..

Carry some stock! Random clicking around your site shows that you don't have much in stock. Spending £30/day on adwords is going to get through a lot of money (10K/year). No point in paying to get people to your site when there's nothing for them to buy.

Thanks . Your right I have 90,000 Laptops that I can can potentially Supply, and about 20,000 is out of stock, This will change when Im able to invest in more stock.

Hi , Id stop your adwords campaign until you speak to an SEO ... Research keywords on your products use tools like google keyword tool and google insights .. Get as much in stock as you can, if possible, look into dropshipping ( get paid for essentially holding an image). And provide good delivery rates with free delivery on orders over a certain amount. Even free delivery depending on your profits . Main thing is to have good descriptions and info on each and every product get page titles correct - these are the most important things for SEO . With this you should see more sales. Good luck

I find the site a bit overwhelming. Too much competing information on a home page for me

I'm guessing your customers will be looking for one item. So is it worth questioning if you need "new in store", "top sellers" and "special deals"? And do you need payment cards icons showing twice.

As has been mentioned, having unique title tags and descriptions for each product will be essential SEO for your business.
