Hi webmaster, i need you suggestion regarding duplicate content in search engine optimization. I use unique content for my website both for pages and post and same for blog like blogger, wordpress and so on. But i post one content on approximately 20 articles resource which accept such content. Am i safe of Google panda update? Is my policy is right or not? Plz. suggest me. I need expert seo suggestion. Thanks in advance.

Lol @ seowise
Arun, you’ve somewhat answered your question yourself. “I post one content on approximately 20 articles resources”.

That was what the whole big Panda was all about! Those resources might not have an issue, but Google sure does. Please don’t expect any fireworks outta this. If they are verbatim same, Google will show the one that got indexed first and label the rest as duplicate...No big idea in rolling the same content and boring the search engines and your users to sleep!

Whoever writes the content first gets the authority.
Duplicate content doesn't count for anything.
Spun content with added information can be effective but runs the risk of being classed as spam if done wrong.

Best way to look at it is - would you waste time returning to a website that has the same info as other websites.

Sites like SEOMOZ highlight your duplicate pages, and strongly recommend you remove them. The way to do SEO is to think - if I were running Google, how would I write my search engine? You can bet that you'd penalise duplicate content, or at least not give anything beyond the first page any authority. Google Webmaster itself draws your attention to duplicate pages.

Break it down to the basics:

The goal is to drive conversions on your money site.

The 19 other sites are funnel entry points designed to drive traffic to the money site.

The 19 feeder sites should have a synopsis and link back to the money site, not give away the farm (your content) out on the periphery.

The content should ultimately be consumed on the money site.

Duplicate content is something that is not praised and applauded by Google at all. The latest update made by Google that is Google panda is an attempt by Google to punish those who are involved in content farming and duplicate content marketing.

In last few years Google has punished almost every content farmers including Ezinearticles, Associatedcontent, and e-how. After that these websites started improving up the quality of the content and stopped farming content.
Webmasters and publishers should also move in the same line and they should take every possible steps to avoid duplicate and thin quality contents for their websites.
And the best way to go for this is by writing contents for human visitors and not for the search engine robots. Once you provide appealing contents for visitors Google will automatically rank your website high in the search engine result page.
However, the basic rules of search engine optimisations shouldn't be overlooked like writing keyword based title, including keywords on the H1 and H2 tags. Including keywords in the file and folder name. Going for long-tailed keywords.

I think duplicate content is just another of Google's we want you to think we do this but we really to that kind of thing. The theory that any computer can compare every page on the internet like for like as well as doing a tun of other thing is laughable. My own thory is Google just take it a step at a time;

Someone does a search on Widgets it goes of a find 100 pages on widgets. Then checks that 100 and for duplicate content only only shows what it thinks is unique in authority order.

I don't think for one minute that your site get devalued for it. But if those pages never show in the searches they don't earn value either. And the same sort of filters maybe applies on backlinks.
