Dropshipping buisness possible

hello, i was wanding if its possible to run an entire buisness online with a dedicated site to sell electronics from dropshippers.
I want to sell electronics, not just cheap rip offs from china, but proper well branded quality items.
The main concerns i have for this are tracking the stock of the dropshippers and actually finding a dropshipper that does quality items.
Does anyone know if there are any sucessfull buisnesses using droppshipers?
Does anyone know of any dropshippers or wholesalers that do dropshipping of quality electronics, i have contacted a few wholesalers but they say you must have a 3month track record of purchases before they will consider dropshipping.
Any ideas??

Both business's dropship a range of electronic items.

Look carefully at their postage costs when working out your pricing.

Thanks for the help. It was nice of them to let us know they had gone out of buisness. i sold a safe on ebay using they're site and then i recieved a notice back sayingit was no longer in stock, as a consiquence i had to cancel my ebay account after gettting bad feedback on my first sale!
But never mind.
Ive found some quality dropshippers such as bell micro which require you to register your buisness and provide a buisness registartion number and VAT number when applying.

I have looked into the and come across start.biz website which guides you around starting your own buisness, however it said it was going to cost me over £100 just to register the name, then another £20 to register a .co.uk domain for only a year! I can get it for 2 year for £5 with 123reg.
Does this mean there pricing is way over the top? Does it really cost over £100 to get a registration number? As you can tell i dont have a lot of money at the moment

I dont see the point registering a ltd company this early, just go sole trader...especially if your short of money.

I don't use dropshippers muself, but one thing I would recommend is never use a dropshipper who asks you to pay to see their prices, most will be very uncompetitive and you will probably never put an order through them in the first place.

Yeah someone has told me that already, there are a few that give you a refund after so many sales, but the ones designed for ebay or the ones that have a yearly subscription i would never go for.
There are many dropshippers that dont advertise themselves as dropshippers, such as distibutors like Bell Micro, and Micro peripherals.
However you have to be VAT registered and everything first and have a year expenditure of over £9,000
If im a dropshipper this is gonna be kinda hard to do because im going to have to log onto the distributors site then get and list their products on my site and advertise my site before i can even sell anything.
Lets hope they will be patient for a few months!

I think dropshipping is old news. In fact i think you can usually buy the products cheaper on ebay than the actual 'dropshipping company!

I know of several people who make a living from selling dropshipping products. I think you're right that there are several dropshipping companies who make their money from sign up costs, but that doesn't right off the whole business model.

Dropshipping is still a method of connecting a product to a consumer. If you can sell a product with enough margin to make a profit over and above your costs, then it works. If you sell that product enough times you can make a living. If you can't, you don't. There are reasons why this business model may not be ideal (reliance on supplier, competition etc), but there are also benefits to not having the overheads of a holding stock.

"I think dropshipping is old news" - based on what? Is this through your own experience and knowledge, or a general opinion? Dropshipping has been around for years, just not called dropshipping.

And I think you can probably buy most products cheaper on ebay than you can elsewhere, but not everyone purchases off ebay, so you are not targetting those customers.

Like I say, there are ways of making it work, but unfortunately dropshipping has been tarnished with the "get rich quick working from home" brush, whereas to make it succeed you would have to approach it as you would any business.
