Given up with dropbox help.

I have a dropbox account which has a load of files in it.

I want to sync with my dropbox account, but I want the files on my computer to be dominant and over-right what is in my dropbox account.

How do I do that?

Best to delete all files on my dropbox and start fresh and upload all my computer files to the dropbox?

Any help, very much appreciated :)

At home I'm in a similar position. I have a folder on my PC with everything I want to be stored on Dropbox, it's not configured as a sync folder for anything. Then I use Allways Sync (allwaysync.com) to automatically sync that folder with my Dropbox folder, the app gives you the option to determine which is the master, one/two way copy, etc. It can also sync to multiple folders so if you have a Google Drive, Onedrive folder, etc as well, it'll copy your local folder to all of them.

Downside is it doubles/trebles/etc the amount of space needed on the PC but it gives you the control.

Provided you don't go into Dropbox and alter anything, your computer files will have the most recent version of every file, so that is the version that Dropbox will back up. But that seem such an easy answer I think I might be missing the point?

I assume it comes down to giving other people access to Dropbox shares, if one of them changes a file, it replaces the local copy.
