DPD vs Fedex for UK deliveries

We have used DPD for many years. Always been pretty much bob on.

However. Cannot ignore that we can get way way better rates with Fedex - 30% better than DPD.

We will start some trial shipments with them but am a bit twitchy on changing.

Keen to hear anyone with experience of Fedex.

B2B or B2C?

DPD have follow the driver and 1 hour timeslot etc so for B2C are a lot better from the customers point of view and I'm sure you'd find a lot more successful first time deliveries and customers don't have to wait around all day as they only have to be in for the slot.

If B2B then you don't really have the issue about customers not being at the address so I'd go for Fedex if your rates are that much cheaper.

Also, check how much they cover you for if the package is lost. I found out the hard way that FedEx are offering lower protection than another competitor.

It's often worth looking at getting your own insurance for goods in transit, rather than relying on carrier insurance.
