Hi, my parents own a business selling clothes and have been doing so for a number of years using doyourownsite dot com.

Although they have sold plenty of stuff on there, I feel it is time they had a more professional looking site to attract more customers. And has SEO.

They reason they like the site how it is, is because it is very easy for them to add, remove items, customer service is prompt and excellent, good uptime and therefore a low cost to run.

What they would like then is a more professional web site that has the following.

Customer database, so they can send out mails
Easy for them to add remove \ items and change costs etc
Stock counter of some kind
A banner for their mailing list.
SEO optimised.
A site that once set up is easily managed by my parents.
good security.
Easy to transfer stock from old site to new one.

So we would look for someone in the UK who can set this up and would be available to resolve any issues questions.

So if it is a job that you can undertake please send me your details and an estimate of the cost.

Magento fits the bill 100%... it's perfect for ecommerce due to it's features and is hugely popular.

There are a few Magento developers on here who should be able to help. You will need to get them to check out export options for doyourownsite, so you can quickly move the products onto the new platform.

Hi,

We work with Magento, I would also say take a look at open cart too. Here are some of our recent works.

If you like what you see contact us through the site site linked below. We couldn't give an estimate of cost until we have had a chance to discuss exact requirements but these two were in the region of £3-5k

The question you need to answer is how will you handle the transition, as DYOS is a hosted solution so you are not able to transfer the work. Do they own the domain name they have been using on DYOS? are they able to put in place a complete 301 redirection so as to ensure they don't lose all the rankings and link love they previously enjoyed?
