When I upgraded found sleep mode didn't work properly with some HP laptops yet, so rolled back to windows 8.1 as above with no issues at all.

Upgrading windows used to be a one way process unless you created an image of your machine first, so nice to see Microsoft finally added a downgrade option but being cynical it could be as they rush released 10 to the public and knew there would be some issues meaning people needed to roll back....

Hi @Paul_Rosser,

So you tested the above way to and everything was fine, Yes? I have just finished doing all of mine and everything is back to normal now etc.

To be honest I love Winows 98 and if I could have that again I would, however I didn't have such a problem with XP Home that was okay but now I feel that Microsoft are racing ahead like Apple and missing a lot of things out which cause problems.

Ages ago you could purchase a computer with no problems when turning on for the first time now soon as you plug a Ethernet cable or connect via wireless suddenly your brand new computer is riddled with viruses.

Glad it worked for you and hope it does for many others also.

Nope I did it a much easier way (as below) but all worked fine.

Windows 98 and XP were good, as was Windows 2003 server, but personally give MS-DOS any day as Windows is the reason millions of people thought "I can use a mouse, therefore I must be good enough to work in IT" and the market got flooded with poor quality people as the average manager didn't know any better.

"
Click the “Update & security” icon and select “Recovery.”
You should see a “Go back to Windows 7″ or “Go back to Windows 8.1″ option. Click the Get started button to get rid of your Windows 10 install and restore your previous Windows install. Microsoft will ask you why you want to go back"

I have 10 on about half the machines here, XP still on one running legacy software and 7 and 8 on the others. I'm not sure I ever 'enjoy' any of them, but they all work fine. My only problem is audio files on the Windows 10 machine - where there is a known bug that corrupts them in certain circumstances, and the major piece of software I use doesn't recommend it at the moment, so that stays on 8. Not tried my Adobe machine on 10 yet, so I'll wait.
