Door Dropping

Hi everyone,

I am aware not everyone is on social media and i'm considering door dropping leaflets in my local area for my local service business.

Has anyone had success with this or am I wasting my time? Might be best to ask local businesses/social clubs etc to display a leaflet?

Done correctly, leaflet dropping can still be very lucrative

If I was you and your computer repairs business, I would be targeting villages and areas occupied by the older generation - I think they would be more inclined to use a repair service for their devices than a younger generation who tend just to replace them these days. My 88 year old Grandad for instance has used a local PC repair guy for a few years now

Back in a previous business not to dissimilar to yours, we found advertising in local Parish magazines brought the best returns

Thank you. I do target small businesses as well as I offer maintenance plans etc.

I did drop a few leaflets a couple of days back in one area near me (domestic). Not going to lie I did feel a pain in the backside doing it, haha. I am slightly concerned I will do more harm than good to the businesses reputation but then I maybe just over thinking it? It would be a case of one flyer per door then that's it. I wouldn't be dropping them every 6 months for example.

I used to get 6-8% response rate, but at the time I was looking for low income households, and they are very easy to identify in comparison to your requirements.

So personally, I think like most you will get a 1-2% response rate at best, sorry to sound negative. In today’s world I would have thought internet marketing would be your best bet.

Internet marketing is so expensive. I've had 1000 flyers done for £35 with 250-300gsm card.

I am actively posting on social media platforms trying to provide value through my posts as well. (also share posts in local facebook groups).

I have a map printed out in which I was going to mark out each street once done, avoiding very rough areas. From research the going rate for on-site repairs is anything from £70-£90 which I cannot see lower income areas accepting and therefore feel i'm wasting time there.

Just not sure how hard to go with marketing etc. Business is almost 18 months old but I do still have a part time job also.

With any form of marketing, it really depend if you're reaching your audience. If you get your demographics right then yes, leaflets will work.
