Domain Names & Magento

I tried a demo of this about a month ago - changed the A record settings with namecheap of a domain so it loaded the test store created. However when navigating the domain reverts to myteststoresname.mygostore.co.uk as not mydomain.co.uk/xxx.

Is it actually possible to mask the website behind the domain or does the end-user have to use the mygo website?

Yes I have. Same result

you have added the domain name to magenta and added the IP address to your DNS server?

Is it the whole domain or just the check out that is not the correct domain?

To add, resolved. Didn't realise you had to change settings in the magento store admin area
