Does the BBC sack the right people?

Had a conversation over the weekend........divided opinions but all agreed that responsibility goes far beyond the high profile individuals involved.

Master Chef presenter Gregg Wallace has been the subject of allegations for many years and will have worked under several tiers of management throughout that time. He's lost his job and rightfully so but what about those managers who turned a blind eye. Have they been shown the door too?

A BBC insider said two days ago -
I heard today that "a Banijay spokesperson said that 94% of allegations upheld by the inquiry related to behaviour before 2018".
It beggars belief that these apparently serious misconduct issues could have been ignored for 7 years or more! The spokesperson added that "Banijay acquired Endemol Shine [which previously made MasterChef], in 2020, and ways of reporting concerns have improved exponentially in recent years".
The article claimed that, in addition to Wallace and Torode being given their cards, a "senior Banijay production executive" has also been sacked...

Banijay NV is a publicly listed company group based in Amsterdam with a c.a. €5bn turnover made mostly by producing banal rubbish reality programming with international appeal.

I used to know their founders Ende and Mol who combined to create Endemol in Holland and then came to the German market with some drivel called Traumhochzeit (Dream Wedding) and had a huge hit with Big Brother in Holland and then in Germany and then in almost every country on Earth.

That's their business model - come up with some vapid, brain-dead reality, celebrity-driven crap in one territory and if it gels, try it in a similar country and then roll that rubbish out all over the world.

Why Endemol morphed into Banijay remains a clouded mystery. The production HQ is in Paris and it has on-the-ground operations in about 25 countries with nearly 150 production companies.

The result is that true talent is crowded out by lewd and vapid creatures reading teleprompters.
