The reason I'm asking is that I'm having trouble getting Professional Indemnity insurance. I tried to shop around but couldn't find anything. I talked to someone from Simply Business, and they told me that most companies don't offer Professional Indemnity services anymore.

What do you think I should do or look into next?

    Hi @Anthony015 ,

You need to speak to an Independent Insurance Broker - there are plenty of Professional Indemnity Insurance providers that will provide a quote.

I will be happy to help - my contact details below.

Simply Business use a number of different insurance providers - I assume they are just talking about their own providers, as I would disagree that most companies that offered Professional Indemnity cover still do! I suspect that this is an area that Simply Business find difficult (their online quote system is very much a "fit the box" system, and they are usually unable to quote if you fall outside of the relevant box!

Hi Anthony, hope you don't mind us weighing in – we're long time members of UKBF and happened to come across your comment and wanted to offer a response, in case it was helpful.

If you're simply selling or renting properties, we can offer Professional Indemnity under the profession of 'estate agent'. But if I've understood correctly, and you're in fact putting together property deals for investors as a property sourcing agent, I can confirm that we can't offer you PI cover at this time unfortunately.

To echo Frank's comment, there will likely be a more specialist provider out there who can help you with this. We're proud to insure over 1,200 different trade types – including those with complex needs – but appreciate that there will always be the odd occasion where more specialist cover is required.

We know that the convenience of comparing and buying online is preferred by many of our customers, but if anything's unclear – or you want the reassurance of talking to someone – our UK-based team of insurance experts are always on hand to help.

Sorry we couldn't help on this occasion, and wishing you all the best with your business.
