Does Google know that Bard has written the content?

IMO whatever the answer is, it's irrelevant, the point is the intent of the content and who it's written for. Danny Sulivan John Mueller. etc have all gone on record and said that content written specifically to rank, will not. Regardless of whom has written the content, as long as it's useful, and it abides by the EEAT guidelines, then it's fine.

The obvious ones are very easy to spot, especially if you already know someone's writing style. The problem tends to come when the Ai generated content is then humanly rearranged.

Not even that. Give it a few paragraphs of your writing first and say "continue in this style".

We recently looked into AI and what it can do for our websites product category heading text. It seems to need a lot of help text first, but then is able to produce text in different styles, or at least it could on the one that we were trying. Some of it seems really false and made up, but other styles seem fine and something that could make readers/buyers buy more. We are trying it on selected categories to see if it does make a difference. Some we are leaving as AI produced. Some of the AI produce text we are amending the style of and some of the words, and some we are not changing. Not yet tried it on product decryptions though.
