What Is Your Site Doing To Convert Visitors?

Too many businesses come across as generalists and people all over the internet are searching for specialists in certain areas.

Let me give you an example as if we're the person searching the internet for a service:
Let's say you have been recently divorced and need a financial adviser to discuss what you're entitled to...
You're going to look for a specialist in this area, aren't YOU?

As the financial adviser company, you set up a landing page that is only about people that have been divorced and looking for financial advice. By doing this you will have higher conversions and we can be very specific when paying for ads.

Bottom line is you create landing pages to cater for specific audiences.

Bottom line people tend to ask family, friends and colleagues for a recommendation rather than look on the internet for this type of personal service.

Bottom line if I want a financial adviser I want a good one who can offer me the best advice, It's irrelevant whether they have experience of working with people post divorce.

Thinking a little too small their I think, not everyone thinks the same and Google proves that with how many searches and the price companies are willing to pay to get these new clients.

1000's search in Google looking for financial advice for many search terms

If the page they land on is talking about divorce specialist people will convert than suppose to a page just saying financial help on all areas to general, your ads then too general costing to bomb in PPC

The internet is evolving into very specific pages catered for people with specific needs, if the page is too general it converts less then a page that is on point to their needs.

People ask for recommendations everywhere but doesn't mean this industry does not work online. Companies are paying £10 - £50 even £100 per click ads in this area.

Definitely not thinking too small @rezzer

Just using my knowledge gained through over twenty years' heading up communications functions nationally and internationally.

I'm not disagreeing in principle that identifying niche/s work IF you know which channels to use to target the niche's concerned.

Nor did I say that online don't work for many businesses.

What I have clearly said is that for this type of recommendation, people are more likely to turn to family, friends and colleagues first.

Some will then check them out online. Some will just call and make an appointment.

This is what I did recently with recommendations for both a mortgage broker and financial adviser. I trusted the people concerned who made the recommendation, so this was enough for me without having to check them out online.

    Great

People will seek recommendations yes, but also people don't they search the net and call companies or request a call back to the companies that were the most relevant to the visitor.

    True.

In my field which is SEO, you want to minimize bounce rate, in other words people finding your site in google, visiting the page, and leaving quickly to browse another site from the list in google.

Therefore this means at least 2 things (1) make sure your traffic is targeted (2) make sure once they land on your page, they are finding exactly what they are looking for.

This is why you would "create landing pages to cater for specific audiences."

I've experienced the same focus with email marketing. Regardless of the current climate or response rates of the past, if you don't cater your message for the audience with relevant information then why bother?

So many clients expect to see masses of response from a single email "newsletter" being sent to essentially cold prospects. Unrealistic expectations.
