Hello...this is my first post so please...go easy on me cause I`m quite new.....I have a question, if anyone would be kind enough to answer it I would apreciate it... Do I need a licence for vending machines?....or a permit...and if so, where do I get it from?..Thanks!

To do what with them..sell them, repair them or operate them in an arcade?

Oh....sorry.....for using them, to sell ...candies for example in a shoppin centre. Tanks!

Probably not. Depending on what you are selling some local authorities might require a licence but it isn't that common. Surely the shopping centre management would be able to advise you. Otherwise call the licencing department of the local authority in which the machines will be sited.

No, you will not need a licence to sell confectionery via a vending machine. You buy the vendor, buy the stock and then sell onto your customers.

You will need to have public liability insurance and your premium will depend on the type of vendor you have and your estimated turnover in your first 12 months. To give you an idea of a quote, turnover under £25,000 will be in the region of £150 - £200 pa depending upon what area you are operating in.
