Do I have to create a UK business to sell in the UK with a French company ?

Hello. I am French and I live in France. I plan on selling on Amazon France and Amazon UK, with most of my sales done in the United Kingdom. Do I have to incorporate in the UK to be able to sell (and import) there ? Can I just sell with my small French company ? What are the implications ?

Thank you very much for your help.

My personal advise is to contact a business lawyer with experience in international commerce, as they may be able to help out. We incorporated in the UK to sell there, but I know that's because of the way we run our business. If you're say an online ecommerce site, you can sell globally without having to incorporate in each country.

I would just start, then work out any problems as you come across them. Obviously a French company can sell into the UK. We haven't become so bureaucratic that a Frenchman might be afraid of selling wine to Newcastle(?)

Anyway, you're selling online, so there're even fewer obstacles.

If you want to form a UK company (which I only recommend doing if absolutely necessary), we can do it: http://www.registeredaddress.co.uk/registrationoptions
