Distribution Business please help

I am thinking of setting up food distribution business for restaurants and catering businesses a friend of mine is also doing same business but as he told me that competition is very high and also customer dont buy if you can not offer them credit. But I dont have enough fund to give out too much credit what do you think i should do is there any other way i can get customers without giving them much credit and also can you please advice me how can i get customer in this competitive market.

Why not go into business with your friend? If he is established,you can help him grow the business.He is correct about the competition,it is very hard to break into the market which is dominated by several big players.If you really want to go on your own,then will have to offer something unique,but that does not solve the credit problem.Good luck.
