Think I might have put this thread in the wrong place initially...
Hi All, New here! Hopefully someone can help me with this??....
I work for a company that according to companies house has been dissolved since June of 2009.
The director still uses a bank account under the company name, my pay slips still say the company name. Surely this in itself is illegal?
Most worryingly I am 100% sure that the 'director' is not paying mine or any of the other employees tax or national insurance!
Also the company is running up huge debts. The director is constantly booking new advertisements and services with no intention of paying the bills. Literally he is only concerned with taking his fairly hefty monthly wage.
Is this all illegal? Is it serious fraud? Is the director personally liable for the company debts?
Untimately I would like to buy the goodwill of the company and take what equipment the so called company owns. Can this be achieved?
Please help!
I am new to this site and this might be the wrong place. I ordered some sunscreen in in June from an online beauty company. When the product didn't arrive I asked for a refund via email. A month later I am still waiting. I have asked my bank to apply for the money. I noticed when I put the company name in Google it showed as "dissolved" in 2020 on all company information sites. However it is listed by a US company Crunchbase as "active". It seems odd it continues to trade when all listings under it's name show it's dissolved. There are a lot of negative reviews on Trustpilot from people who have not got goods or refunds from this company. I wish I had looked at all this before ordering - I'll be more careful in future

You ordered in June - so probably to a successor company of a smilar name. In theory in the EU and UK the full company name and number should be on its current website so you can check by UK or EU companies house website the entity concerned by the number which is more definitive than the name.

Here you probably ;paid by card. if by credit card you are probably protected (in the UK anyway) by s75 of the Consumer Credit Ac 1974. If you paid by debit card you still may have some kind of charge back procedure entitlement.
