I've been asked by a client if there is any software that would allow their customers to view current stock levels with the information taken from Sage 50 Accounts.

Sage is stored on an onsite server, not the cloud version.

I thought i'd put the question to the hive mind to see if there was anything anyone can recommend and reduce the amount of time I need to spend going through various websites to find the software doesn't do what we want and I'm getting sales call/email.

If you can access the DB you can run an sql query. More difficult if it’s on a local server as this needs to connect to the internet.

What sort of website do they have?

What sort of budget do they have?

Sage 50 has an ODBC driver that can be used to extract the relevant data.

Sage have an 'Additions' service that lists known add ons from Sage Developers although the ODBC driver can be used by anyone, you don't have to be a member of Developers Programme.

If your planning to use Sage it would be a benefit if all concerned migrated onto cloud storage.
They're already using Sage Accounts, but the director doesn't trust the cloud. I've shown him the benefits of cloud and how secure it is when done correctly, but he's been burned in the past and now doesn't want to go cloud.

It took years to get them to trust Microsoft 365 for emails.

Thanks, I'll have a look through and see if anything fits the bill.

Even with Sage 50cloud, although a copy of the data is held in the cloud that is solely for the purpose of syncing across multiple sites, the extraction of any data would still have to done locally, the data in the cloud cannot be accessed via the ODBC driver.
