Discount Codes: Which Are The Best Place(s) To 'Drop' Them?

I've found a lot of 'coupon code' websites but they seem to be only for the big boys.

Just wondering if there are sites where small firms can place them, for potential customers to find.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if this helps with your specific business however I pick up a lot of discount codes off facebook. I've been using electric cigarettes for a few years and a few facebook groups offer advice etc. Everyone is already buying the products so discount codes are very welcome. Maybe it would be worthwhile finding an online community related to your product and put your discount codes there.

Depends on your product. I personally never visit voucher websites as never occurs to me. Sometimes I will google "discount code for company x" and see what comes up.

I presume your vouchers are something related to web design? Why not try an approach instead with someone like groupon? Just have the product priced at what it would be if someone were to use the voucher code?

Hi,

I am not clear if you are selling a service or a physical object but if you are selling something physical we have recently set-up That Sale. It lists any genuine sales or discounts on physical items. It allows anyone who want to, to lists for free and also happily accepts sales that take place on the high street rather than insisting on an online sale.

Before launching a coupon or voucher program you should have a clear goal in mind for what you want it to achieve. For example:
  • Increase the number of new customers
  • Increase repeat business
  • Increase average spend of existing customers
Then design an offer that will best achieve the goal you are after.

This is great advice for setting marketing strategy as well as tactics. All businesses probably need to do all 3, but with different levels of prioritisation.
Thinking of my own business I would say that increasing the number of new clients is key , with increasing average spend coming second.
Our repeat business rate is satisfactory.
