Discount Card - Card V's Key Fob

I am about to launch a discount scheme. I am trying to make up my mind what to use for the card/fob. The 2 choices for the scheme is either the a plasic card or a key fob.

The plastic card is the same as a credit card and the Key fob is 4.5cm x 7cm. The price for producing the card and fob are the same. I am wanting to find out what would be the best media to use.

This is the idea with the fob. If you can put your idea to what I should use. Any comments or suggestons are welcome.

I wouldn't put a key fob that size on my key ring. But I do like the smaller key fobs depends on how you have it working, is it barcoded?

We are signing business's up which will be on our website and the business's that takes part will also have a window sticker on display. There will be a bar code on the back of the card/fob or the end user will be able to download vouchers. The card/fob will be used to show the business that they have paid for the scheme.

You can get tiny barcode fobs for keyrings which I would use.

Who is going to pay for the fobs, and how will they be distibuted? and how does the listed business benefit from the fob? or are they simply for 411 to advertise with?

Could you not get plastic key fobs like the tesco clubcard ones printed? Giving a card and a keyfob would be a nice touch, as some people don't like things on their keys and some don't like lots of cards in their wallets. The plastic card key fobs can get a bit ratty after a while though, I know Matalan don't give them out anymore because the barcodes just rubbed off making them useless.

We are launching the directory in Plymouth next week. Business's with paid listings can promote special ofers in the control panel. People who will eventually buy the fob/card will be able to access the offers/discounts from our site. Companies like pizza outlets pay hundreds of pounds to have printed leaflets, with us they could have up to 10 offers at any one time, which they can change anytime.

Thats a good idea, I have found someone who can produce these keyrings and with the card printer I have I will be able to print directly onto the car with the name, expiry date and the barcode on the rear. The bar code is there for businesses who have an EPOS to record the person using it. Other businesses can just record the fob number manually. These number will allow access to peoples details who have bought their products.

My Tesco club card keyring has been in my wallet since I got it.

I am hoping it will be something thatyou would use on a daily bases, we will be signing up fast food outlets, clothing stores and eventually we hope to have some big brands with us.

We are going to create a card like the tesco's club card, it will be slightly bigger (a couple of mils on each side).
