Disabling Right Click on full size images

For a non business site I run I'd like to able to disable the right click menu on images. I've tried a few plugins and, whilst they do disable right click on images embedded in pages, if the user clicks on the linked image to get the full size version, the right click menu is then available.

Are there any plugins that will completely disable right click for all images regardless of how they are displayed?

No I'm afraid this isn't possible. Right click is disabled using JavaScript which cannot be run when the image URL is opened directly in the browser.

You probably don't want opinions but here goes - it's also poor UX and doesn't protect your images from being effortlessly stolen by those who actually want the images.

If you're not bothered about the above, the solution would probably be to open the full size image in a lightbox on your actual website rather than linking directly to the full size image URL. Having said that, if you really want to protect your images, a watermark is usually best.

if the image click is going to the full image URL (default for Wordpress) then there is nothing you can do as the browser is rendering the image. Look at plugins that pop-up the image instead and therefore do not navigate away from the page. Either way, disabling right-click won't really protect your images, it's easy to just disable javascript.
