Hi There,
I wonder if anyone can offer any advice on employment law issues?
I am an ex soldier in receipt of a war pension and due to my accepted condition has been unable to work as a manager within my small private college since December 2010. My employer has permitted me to work from home and I have been managing my team effectively and managing my duties with ease. This allowed me to benefit in both full time employment and received full time pay. Of late my employer has been stating that this cannot continue forever and something needs to be change.
I had a War Pension tribunal on Friday 6th May and have been increased to a full 100% war disablement pension. I can claim supplementary benefits in order to support myself (this will work out a little less than my current salary) but I feel that I still have a lot to offer the workplace.
I informed my employer today and stated that I can continue to work from home, as there has been no complaints and this system that has been in place for some considerable time (6 months) and seems to be working well. I have stated that I could arrange to work at the college one day per week as any more would cause too much pain and discomfort. She wants to terminate my employment and will give me her decision in two days. Do I have any rights?
