Directory Listing for SEO - Is web.com any good?

Hello,

I've been using https://gb.web.com/ for some time now to help with SEO when it comes to directory listings. Is this even worth the £20 per month I pay? I feel like I may be just pissing my money away but if it's doing our website good, then I'll just keep it.

Has anybody used web.com for their SEO when it comes to directory listings?

My first thought is that if you need links from obscure directories, then you're website has bigger issues. They certainly won't be adding to your natural link profile.

Your analytics would also tell you if you're getting referrals from any of these directories.

On face value, keep your money in your pocket. This is just a marketing addon that gets people in.

Citations/directories and social sites do have some value in Google local and map pack ranking. It comes down to NAP consistency (Name, Address, Phone no) and marking this up properly on your website, plus ensuring all listings match the website details and your Google Business listing.

Most people have no idea how to do any of this properly, and the majority of the main citations and directories are free to setup and claim.

So the question is what does £20 a month get you, is it a directory management tool; e.g. and can you setup and manage all of the important listings, and what do you get for continuing to pay it?

@Freelancer87 - Google is looking for endorsements that validate your website. These are usually reviews, referrals and citations.

A directory where you pay for inclusion is none of these.

You don’t need links in order to rank. Focus on the actual site, provide informative and interesting content that adds value. Be trustworthy and authoritative and demonstrate expertise. Google will rewards you.
