Directing all traffic to another site - will it lower my serps?

Hi guys,

I have a question. I have a ecommerce site which gets a fair amount of hits from google. I do not have time to run the site anymore due to other commitments

I am considering selling this traffic by redirecting it to a competitor who sells the same thing but is not high up in the google rankings.

How would the best way of doing this be?

If I were to simply redirect the traffic my bounce rate would be crazily high and I assume that my SERPS will drop as a result? If my serps drop then I won't be able to sell the traffic - it's a vicious circle!

Any ideas welcome!

Won'ts redirecting the site with a 301 decrease my sites SERPS though?

I only want to redirect it to a competitor for a few months, until I find a new supplier so I don't want my site to just drop out of google if i do a 301 redirect.

It will eliminate your serps because your site won't exist anymore

Just link to him then - adding nofollow will eliminate any risk of it looking spammy and will have little effect on your own sit'e ranking.

There is a 302 redirect which is a temporary redirect. Wouldn't have any effect on ranking, though a few months might be too long to be considered temporary... I think it's intended for hours rather than months, such as when maintenance is done.
