directebanking?

Hi.

Ive just had an email from moneybookers because I use one of their partner carts, and I enquired about card processing, they are offering rates of 1.79% + 15p for card transactions, as I'm currently using paypal this is a nice saving for me, so I'm thinking of taking the offer up.

I noticed on the moneybookers site one of the payment options is directebanking where the buyer logs in to their internet banking account via the moneybookers system and authorises a direct transfer of money, Has anybody implemented this and do many people use it?

Ive had a test with their demo and it looks easy to use.

Cheers

Don't use it. This system works fine - i.e. the technology works as advertised and the payment will go through - but UK banks (or at least NatWest) don't permit customers to allow third parties to access their bank accounts in this way. The result (at least in my experience) is that while the payment will go through, thereafter the customer will be denied internet and telephone banking by NatWest and will have to re-apply to reinstate the service. The net result is an annoyed customer and a lot of hassle for all concerned.

If the direct ebanking people (who I should stress are, insofar as I am know, an entirely legitimate and above board business, who operate successfully in Germany) reach an agreement with the UK banks to allow accounts to be accessed in this way, it would be a very useful (and from what others have said, apparently good value) service. But as things stand, it appears that the UK banks just don't allow customers to avail of this sort of service.
