Direct Mail Burst Test

We are looking to send out a Direct Mail piece which includes a gel sachet. I know for magazine inserts you must do a burst test on sachets.

Can anyone tell me if one is required for direct mail. The sachet will be fixed between 2 pieces of 300gsm card.

Well, surely it wouldn't take that much to do a burst test. Send yourself a the direct mail, with the sachet packed as if it was a proper mailing, and see what happens.

Nothing like a "live" test.

Not required by law as far as i'm aware, however you should test sending some as sending burst sachets of products to clients will not get you off to the best start.

On a seperate note there are certain fluids / gels Royal Mail won't ship due to safety.
