Difficulty finding Manager to Employ

Hi, I am searching for a facilities manager for our site in London. Ive been at it a month and had little success. I've spent over £1k on 6 online websites to advertise and engaged three recruiters but they havnt sent me anyone appropriate.

Had 60 applicants and some fairly close but non really hit the mark. This is a critical role and they will be working autonomously so needs to be the right candidate. I wanted to know where and how others had successfully advertised for manager level position?

If the places you have tried aren't finding you the right person then try elsewhere. London you should be able to draw from potentially several million people.

The right person may not be looking. Someone suitable may have to do unless you can wait.

Have you advertised in the forces papers, they may have the person you want just coming out of the forces

I prefer Hiring Based on recommendation (ask friends, family, colleagues, linkedin?) or just offering someone working somewhere else and good at what I want better terms.

Appreciate the advise! I have a month, 6 weeks at most to get the right person. I will try the forces paper thats interesting idea.

Ex forces mate. Ask the British Legion and they will have a plethora of suitable managers who know how to keep their head when all about them are losing theirs...
