    It's a long time since I signed up for PAYE, and I can't remember the process, but I don't see why you can't just run your payroll through Basic Tools? What do you need to do online? Basic Tools should handle the RTI return, using your PAYE and Accounts office references.

    If you're a new employer HMRC gives you 6 weeks' leeway for making your first RTI's. So just run the payroll to get the figures, so you can pay staff and file the RTI when you get your code. If it has been more than 2 weeks since you registered I would ring the employer's helpline on 0300 200 3200, you'll need your reference numbers. If you want to avoid hanging on for 40 minutes, it's best to ring between 8am and 9am.
