Designing a product

Hi All

We are in a bit of a pickle - feel this question might be a little silly as i cannot find the answer on google or i am not looking hard enough

We have some clothing products that we want to place a design on. None of us are designers nor do we know what kind of person we need to look for

We have an outline of what we require. What is the role name for someone that designs/creates the artwork design of a product? How do i find one?

The designs need to be done from scratch and then put onto photoshop so i can give it to our manufacturers to use and put on the clothing products.

Hi, from the sounds of things your looking for a talented graphics designer, someone who has experience in branding, logo's , etc.

Thanks! That is great - i require someone to sketch our ideas - (few mock ups). Then put it onto computer in print and/or embroidery format

You might find that the printers or embroiderers have an in house design department. It's worth asking.

A clear photo should be enough with the correct Pantone colours.

However artwork is always preferable.

The embroidery factory will have computerised machines to convert this into an embroidery for your clothing.

You should always check and confirm the embroidery samples to ensure they are 100% correct. Stitch count is very important for clarity of the design, as well as stitches going astray must be checked.

Just to add to the above, different fabrics may need slight alterations, as not all fabrics take to embroidery in the same way.
