Design Protection organisations

Following a recent design right infringement, I'm trying to protect my designs from future such problems and generally wise-up a little in this area. I am aware of an organisation called ACID (anti copying in design) and wondered if anyone has / is a member and what their experiences are.
I'd welcome your comments - good and bad!

Hi,

we have tried to join ACID but they seems to be a LONDON centred organisation, which is helpful.

Other than that they have a good reputation.
