May I ask why you want to only deal with someone who does dedicated servers.

There are many excellent hosting providers (several on these forums) who provide shared, cloud, VDS and dedicated options and are no lesser in their service for it!

Is a dedicated server the best choice for you? What is the reason why you need a dedicated server as opposed to something like a virtual machine? I just ask this not because I sell these sort of services but because a virtual server can in many ways be far superior to a dedicated machine.

I've had a brilliant experience with RackSrv in the past, they offer great value for money too. However over time I think they grew too big for their boots, with the business apparently being run mostly by one guy. Customer service lacked and the guy running it over time became pretty rude, at least to me. I noticed a few others saying similar things on Twitter etc.

I use Vidahost/Tsohost's clustered shared hosting service and it's absolutely great. I have no experience with their dedicated systems, which when I last checked appeared to be on the more expensive end... but came with full management. What I can tell you is that they have a great team of people over there, fast support and they know what they are talking about. Certainly recommended as a business on the whole.

Thanks all :)

Robbie - who to choose depends on what you're looking for. If you want a cheap or unmanaged service with a handy online control panel then Ovh, Rapidswitch, Racksrv and similar are good options. If you want a managed service (ie just want your website / app to work with as little intervention as possible!), perhaps look at either a managed virtual server or full managed dedicated server :)

A dedicated has some advantages over a VDS - better performance (for comparative hardware), further isolation from others and so on...often more disk space for your money too as on VDS nodes space can be used quite inefficiently - we have to keep some spare for upgrades and so on.

i'm working with hostingnitro.com for the last months and their dedicated servers are really outstanding. They have a professional server offer which is provided bybrand new HP servers. I'm using it and have just satisfaction from this work.
