Death of a sole director

Hi,

My father-in-law who passed away is a sole director a company which is incorporated under model articles after 2006. The model articles state the personal representative can appoint a new director. Is it that simple, you just log on to companies house portal and notify them of a new director AP01 and a previous director ceases with a TM01?

The personal representative will not become a shareholder until they are registered in the company’s register of members.

Did he leave a Will? there may be a clause in it giving powers to continue to run a business.

No will unfortunately
