ok so im setting up an online shop for my product, iv never done anything like this before and I was thinking of ways that could screw me over, 1 way would be, what if I get too many sales? how can I deal with the customers?

what is the best way to deal with incoming emails for the product and posting them out? for example, if I sold to 100 serperate customers in 1 day, what would be the easiest way to get the customers addresses and put them on the package? obviously looking through emails and hand writing is very time consuming?

    All great questions to ask.

As above, it's pretty unlikely you'll get a load of orders right from the off. It takes ecommerce merchants months to build their sales up. At first you'd be lucky to get 1 per day. However, it is worth thinking about what you would do if you did get 100s of sales/day - and the answer is that you have to automate everything that can be automated but the good news is that you can do this as you go along - it doesn't have to be perfect before you start.

The best thing I have ever bought the business in 10 years of trading online was a Brother thermal label printer.
Saves loads of time and looks professional. Also use it for Royal Mail PPI labels.
I had a parcel from someone the other day who I knew was really struggling with dispatching a high demand of orders and the parcel came with the address label printed on standard paper, cut out and sellotaped to the jiffy bag, with a load of stamps. No wonder they're struggling to get orders out.

I do agree with all what was said here, please remember to have one integrated database. This way you are on top of all things. so in case you need all in one solution:
make sure it is professional one- this way you will drive your sales, gain customers trust and retention- then cash this potential.
Idosell Shop- might be the one for you but take a look for others to compare apple to apple.

id like to begin with saying thanks for all the interest in this post

id like to be abit more detailed about what I intend to do, I intend to create calendars using my own and some my friends photos, I have the means to create them, I have a vast audience via social media I can sell to, I intend to go live and have the product ready for sale by October, just researching for now so I make minimal mistakes as possible...

im not entirely sure how to make an online shop yet so I need to look into that but I cant think it is too hard to do, the part im getting confused with is how I can make a web site automated so I can print out these labels you guys are all talking about?
I don't mind going out buying a load of envelopes and individually sending them off, I just need a time saver rather than hand writing out each envelope which will be hugely time consuming. and then having to go through each individual email of every customer and getting the address from there to then exchange it onto paper...

Use ready made ecommerce software which handles this for you. There are lots of open source systems, WooCommerce, OpenCart and Magento are all popular, although Magento is probably not good for beginners. Or there are "hosted" systems where you pay a monthly fee and everything is set up ready for you, Shopify seems to get talked about a lot on here as a good system to use.

As I said before...Linnworks is what you need.

Once you've created your website, you use Linnworks to 'go fetch' your orders from it. Once Linnworks has got the order, it prints out a shipping label & an invoice (it also decrements stock, allowing you to keep a close eye on stock levels) ..it's very simple & a huge timesaver.

That is truth, POS integrated with online store professional solution, saves time and money if the integration works. BTW have you got a list of platforms your POS works with? Who is in charge and take responsibility for integration? Inventory management is the obvious feature when we talk about professional solutions. Shorts time is good for a startup, professionals need a business suit.

Have you done anything to test your idea? For example, you could consider offering a short run 18-month calendar starting in July and see how much interest you get for that. It will be helpful for you to know how many people in your vast audience will translate into money paying buyers.

Seems all you need to go live is Idosell Shop- your customers can add their own pictures to a calendar, using integration with social media you can spread your wings and fly high. Payment integrations within the platform itself help you to be on top of cash flow. Need demo, please let me know.
