i have a database - created for a daily deal website i created but didnt go ahead with

over 1200 business records for Edinburgh
contact numbers, email address, etc and notes as to if they want to deal or not, etc.
From restaurants to hotels to beauty shops and car valeters.

I wish to sell this data base.. whats the best way to do it? and how do you value such a thing?

Bad news: in the world of freelancing and automatic data processing, you wouldn't get even a grand for it... unless you are really lucky... sorry...

You might try a list broker, i know in the past when buying data its typically 15-30p a record. The higher price is normally when the data contains a named contact, email and phone number.

What size organisations are they. Is it mainly smaller sole traders and partnerships or LTD and PLC's.

If the former you probably wont be able to sell the data as it is classed as personal data.

Think about who else would want to target that data and contact them directly. It is unlikely you would get anything from list brokers as they would have to verify all the information for themselves.
